Corrections and enquiries

Contact

Tell us what is wrong and we will check it against the source and publish the change. Services documented here have their own form. Neither one answers a question about your own health.

Two ways to reach the people who maintain this record: one for readers who have found something wrong, unclear or missing, and one for the services documented here.

Neither form gives medical advice or answers a question about your own health, your dose or whether something suits you. If that is what you need, a pharmacist, physician or nurse practitioner is the right place. Please do not type personal health details into either box.

If you are a reader

A correction with a source attached is the most useful thing anyone can send us.

Do not include personal health information. This form is read by people, not continuously, and it is not a route to clinical care.

If you operate a service recorded here

Corrections are checked against your own published pages before anything changes.

How corrections work. A change to a published record needs a source we can read ourselves, normally a page on your own site. We record what changed, why, and the date, in the public update log. We do not remove a documented fact because it is unflattering, and we do correct anything we got wrong, quickly and in public.

On commercial enquiries. Inclusion cannot be bought. No service has any commercial relationship with this site today. If one is ever entered into it will be disclosed on the page and beside the link, and it will not change whether a service is included, what is recorded about it, or where it appears.

What happens to what you send

Your message goes to this site's own server. A copy is stored in a database hosted by Cloudflare so that corrections can be tracked to their conclusion, and it is deleted automatically after ninety days. A copy is also emailed to the people who maintain the record, through an email delivery service that keeps it for thirty days, into an inbox hosted by Google, where it is not deleted automatically. These services operate mainly in the United States, so what you send may be processed there. Nothing you send is used for advertising, sold, or passed to any service recorded on this site.

If a message arrives containing personal health information that was not needed to answer it, that part is deleted rather than kept.

To see, correct or delete something you sent, including the emailed copy, choose "A privacy request" above. The full account is in the privacy section of the methodology page.

What this is not

This is not a clinical service and it is not monitored around the clock. Nobody here can assess you, check your eligibility, tell you what to take or tell you whether something is safe for you. A pharmacist, physician or nurse practitioner can do that with your history in front of them.

If you are having a medical emergency, call 911. In British Columbia, HealthLink BC is 811 and a pharmacist or nurse can be reached any hour of the day. Poison emergencies in BC: 1-800-567-8911.
